Easy to install
Fiat 500 key covers are an easy way to refresh your car keys. You can choose from a range of colors and styles to find one that matches your personal style. The most attractive thing is that they are easy to install, meaning you can install them in about ten minutes. You will require a screwdriver, as well as some patience. The first step is removing the original cover. The original cover needs to be removed before the new one can be installed.
Once you have removed the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver to pry out the four major attachment clips located on the side that is on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are highlighted in red on the photo below. Note the yellow locating tabs that have to be deactivated.
Replace the old battery with a # CR2032 coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery is pointing to the opening of the fob and that the"-" negative side is facing towards the buttons made of rubber.
Re-attach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you've completed this, insert the fob for the driver side back in your car and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is working as it should, the parking lights should be on and the doors will automatically close.

The battery is easy to replace by turning the switch for a quarter turn using a small screwdriver with a flat head.
The key fob houses the microchip that connects to the Body Control Module. When you insert your Fiat key it presses the button on the ignition switch. This is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then be able to read the transponder inside the key fob, and verify that it's a valid.
